My name is John Home I am 34 years old working as a Systems
Administrator I the call center industry.
I am married with 3 children and spend a lot of time playing on my computer
or spending time with my family. I am
currently working on a degree in computer software technology in hopes of shifting
away from administrative and support type IT work into software development.
I have been working in the IT field for 7 years. Through my interactions with the company, end
users, and different technologies I have been able to grow substantially in my
field and learn a lot about information technology and the different impacts it
can have. With he changes over the last two
years from covid our knowledge into how to make computers function in a remote
setting and provide support has had to grow exponentially. I feel that this was an area that I thought I
had a grasp on but proved to be quite a challenge when it came to keeping track
of equipment and users. There are so
many programs and different tracking systems available it has been hard to find
the proper program. This is part of what
has led me to wanting to know more about software development.
With all the different needs that have come up I find that I
have many ideas I want to implement but do not have the knowledge to make
reality. Especially when it comes to
programs I think would be fairly simple to create and have an idea of a layout
and functionality but do not know the proper syntax or process to building out. With this blog I am hoping to explore the
knowledge I currently have in the IT fields and then grow in the different programming
areas I am weak in. With this journey I want
to share my experiences and provide a forum for people with similar interests to
learn from.
